PCR Testing (Sat 1/22)

Assalamu `alaykum Dear Parents and Staff,

We have great news to share!

Alhamdulillah, we have secured assistance of a Muslim-owned, physician-led COVID-19 testing company called Hodu to provide on-site PCR tests for all our students and staff at no-cost, with results becoming available within 24 hours and sometimes in as little as 12 hours!

Alhamdulillah, Hodu offers saliva-based PCR tests (spit in cup), which are equivalent to nasal swab tests but much more tolerable, especially by younger students.

Moving forward, BHA will be partnering with Hodu to provide testing in the event of a known exposure, before reopening of the school after a break, and/or at any time a student or staff member exhibits symptoms of COVID-19.

What we need from you!

In order for Hodu to provide testing for BHA, we will need as many students and staff as possible to register using Hodu’s secure, patient-portal designed exclusively for BHA.

Registration Link:

To register, you must provide Hodu the test recipient’s health insurance information, including a photo of the front and back of their health insurance card. Please note that the health insurance information you provide during registration is protected under Hodu’s Privacy Policy and will not be shared with BHA.

Students and staff may opt-out of using Hodu and use another provider of their choice. However, BHA encourages use of Hodu as it streamlines the process of testing for our school, guarantees fast turnaround times, and provides a more tolerable testing experience due to its saliva-based PCR tests.

What’s coming up:

To resume in-person learning at Clairemont Campus on 1/24/2022, all* Clairemont Campus students and staff must provide a negative PCR test result for a test taken on 1/21/2022 or later. Siblings of Clairemont Campus students who are at Allied Gardens are encouraged to test as well.

Hodu will offer drive-through testing at the Clairemont Campus on Saturday 1/22/2022. All Clairemont Campus staff and students (including siblings at Allied Gardens) are welcome to test.

We strongly urge all individuals who have health insurance (including private insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, and MediCal) to register before the testing day. Those who do not have health insurance, may register on-site by providing their identification and social security number.

For any questions/concerns about registration or Hodu testing, please email CovidTesting@issdweb.org.

Jazakum Allahu khayr,

*Please note that any students or staff who had a confirmed COVID-19 infection in the past 90 days, and notified the school, will not be required to test as the test result may remain positive due to prior infection.
