Assalamu Alaikum Dear Parents and Students,

We are pleased to announce that our NSTEM Chapter (National STEM Honor Society) will be offering extracurricular clubs for the elementary and middle school students after school on Fridays. The Winter Sessions will commence on December 3rd and will span 4 sessions ending on January 7th, 2022 at Allied Garden campus.

Programs that will be offered:
FIRST SESSION at 2:00 – 2:45 pm
EV3 Robotics Grades 3, 4 and 5

This course uses the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education EV3 Core Set that provides hands-on, cross-curricular STEM tools that engages students by providing the resources to design, build and program their creations while helping them develop essential skills such as creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

Art I Grades 1 and 2
Using mixed media fun materials, the unique art experiences will ignite the young artist’s mind with a series of creative arts and crafts projects that enhance fine motor skills building self confidence and putting an emphasis on having fun while exploring hands-on activities to make a great work of art to take home.

Art III Grades 6, 7 and 8
The middle school art program will develop the artist’s imagination by experiencing the importance of technical and developmental art concepts to recognize the elements of art, complex color theory and principles of design in an umbrella of art fundamentals to use different technologies in their work to exhibit realism and depict ideas.

SECOND SESSION at 2:45- 3:30 pm

WeDo Robotics Grades 1 and 2
An award winning LEGO® program that is based on the latest science standards and created to enhance students’ curiosity and science skills. This program will use a drag-n-drop programming environment and includes the WeDo 2.0 Curriculum Pack, which covers life, physical, earth, and space sciences, as well as engineering.

Art II Grades 3, 4 and 5
The students will be trained using multi-media options in different artistic concepts with an emphasis placed upon critical and artistic skills that will be presented, emphasizing on the elements of space, form, perspecitve and color to make their own masterpieces that engage and develop the student’s limitless imagination.

STEM Wheel Grades 1 and 2. Grades 3, 4 and 5
Students switch their books for hands-on project based activities to visualize data, alternating each week to a new project to experience becoming true engineers, scientists and mathematicians. The STEM projects will encourage the students to see STEM subjects in a new light, and provide training to use those disciplines to solve their day to day problems now and those that they might face as adults. As critical thinking and creative thinking become more and more important, the STEM activities will provide a safe and fun way for students to explore the concepts of science, math, engineering, and technology in a kid-friendly, engaging way.
