Insha Allah, this message reaches you in the greatest health and iman. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) has started its first project of the year, the Walkathon! This activity has many purposes and benefits for all.
•To raise money for charity purposes and to cover the NJHS activities.
•To improve our health and habits.
•To build the brotherhood and sisterhood relationships while enjoying some relaxation time during the group event.
Participants:
1. Anybody can participate. (Note: Attending BHA is not a requirement.)
2. Everyone participating will need to fill the registration form and recruit sponsors – sponsors can be anyone willing to pay for him or her.
3. The sponsor will be donating an amount of money for each mile (ex. $3 per mile).
Donors: A donor can sponsor as many people as they want (ex. an individual, class, club, or the whole event.)

When: Thursday, November 24, until Sunday, November 27. Walk frequently at your convenience during these days.
Where: Walk wherever it’s convenient, whether at a park, neighborhood, or trail during these four days. However, we will organize a big walkathon at De Anza Cove Park on Nov. 24, from 9 am – 11 am. It will be followed by a potluck for whoever can stay after the walking.

How it works:

Recruit sponsors, choose a location, walk and measure the distance, and have a nice, fun, active day! Then, fill out the calculation sheet and collect the money from your sponsors.
You can either download or make a copy of the following calculation sheet to record your sponsors and dues:

Submit your form with the collected money by December 5th.
How to win:
Whoever raises the most money will be the winner. The person who walks the most miles will be the other winner. (This could mean that there can be multiple winners)
