Alhamdulillah, the results of our parent-elected Board of Education nominations are in. We had several parents nominated for the Board, and of them, one parent has graciously accepted the nomination. Please welcome our newest Board member, Br. Chris Ellis, to the BHA Team. We wish a heartfelt congratulations to Br. Chris. My name is Chris Ellis, I also go by Adam. I have been in San Diego since 1999 and embraced Islam in 2006 along with my wife. Our Daughter Emma Maryam has been attending BHA since Kindergarten and is currently in 5th grade.
As far as my professional background, I received my Bachelor of Science in Business with emphasis in Information and Decision Systems from SDSU. I am a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) having worked in the Information Security field for Intuit, and currently working in Internal Audit for the County of San Diego managing audits that look at the efficiency and effectiveness of business operations as well as the security of Information Systems.
I have been a member of various Islamic communities and organizations in San Diego including MCC, and supported and attended online Islamic Studies programs like Seekers Guidance. From 2008-2013, I served on the Management of the Logan Islamic Community Center developing cash flow analysis/projections for programs and special events, project planning, and managing event registration.
